From Day To Night This Event Will Be Like No Other
Beyond the Books Events by RMK welcomes you and your Spring Court to an event like no other. Step into the gardens and get ready for a first ever fantasy book themed festival with a masquerade ball under the stars to follow. Both the festival and the ball will feature a unique cosplay cast!
If you love all the bookish things: merchandise like t-shirts, sweatshirts, hats, stickers, swords, Indie authors as well as other unique vendors. There will be an assortment of activities to participate in from crafts like painting with a special guest, to making friendship bracelets, design your own mask, a live artist and more. And let us not forget the importance of having our very own Maypole! As the event gets closer, we will announce specific vendors participating.
The Ball that follows will be a night to remember with dancing, activities, and other fun opportunities to bond with all your book loving besties.

But First: Why Calan Mai?
Calan Mai, literally translates to "first day of May" is a Welsh holiday that is about being merry, joyous and living in the moment. Calan Mai marks the beginning of summer and traditionally it involved festivities around bonfires, maypoles, and carol singing (which YES you will see some of these featured at our event!).

Immersive activities throughout the event:
Explore all that Hidden Gardens has to have with vendors throughout the property

Interact with our event staff and cast running select activities (to be scheduled) &

Music will be played throughout the event

Enjoy a family style feast with the Spring Court before the Ball begins
6:00PM - 7:30PM
This is ideal for guests who want to have an intimate dinner with our cast
Dinner will feature: meats, salads, fruit and vegetable options, with Faerie
wines & possibly some spilled tea
Plated dessert to follow dinner

Located only minutes from the heart of downtown Fort Worth. This quaint piece of history sits just off of Highway 199, nestled in the back of the property surrounded by trees, for that "Hidden Gardens" feel.
This beautiful Venue was built in 1932.
Prior to it being a venue, it was a home to many, a hunting lodge and a Russian Spy Camp.
After years of neglect, lots of hard work and elbow grease, the beauty of this stone building was able to shine through once again

Must be 18+ to attend the Masquerade Ball, under 18 to attend the festival with an adult & must be accompanied at all times.
